Pininfarina Space

Pininfarina SPACE is a writing tool designed to be used in space. Made entirely of magnesium, an ultra-light material that offers high mechanical performance, Pininfarina Space was gifted to the crew of the International Space Station (ISS) during the last V.I.T.A. mission. Astronauts, including Italian Paolo Nespoli, were therefore given the opportunity to use it in conditions of microgravity, where normal pens cannot write. The metal alloy with which the tip is forged, Ethergraf, writes by oxidation, without the need for graphite or ink, and is therefore the ideal solution for the environmental conditions in space stations, where the micro-waste produced by the graphite of ordinary pencils is very dangerous for the filter system.
